How and why did you come up with the idea?
On the day that George Floyd was murdered, like so many I was upset, exhausted and thinking when will this end?! In such a short period of time we had news of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, Christian Cooper and now George Floyd.⁣ That night I couldn’t sleep and I wondered what I could do; and I began to think about my daughter and how important it was to keep reminding her who she was, how special she was and how important she was and I began to write some affirmations. ⁣

‘My product is about building self-esteem in children’

I then decided to turn the affirmations into flashcards which teach the alphabet as well as focusing on personal, social and emotional development and make them available for other children and I am so excited to now see them come to life.⁣

What barriers / obstacles did you have to overcome and how did you do it?
The only real obstacle was finding a company to print the Flashcards but after some research I found a really great company

What is different about your product and brand?
My product is about building self-esteem in children as well as educating them

What are your plans for the future?
I definitely want to produce other children’s products. Although I’ve been in business for nearly 10 years my clients have always been adults so this was definitely a new area for me in terms of catering to children

Not presently but in the future i will be
